Joint Inventory of Policy Measures

The European Inventory of Research and Innovation Policy Measures has been created by the European Commission to facilitate access to information on research and innovation policies within Europe and beyond.
This joint inventory brings together national information and documentation on research and innovation policies, measures and programmes collected and presented by
ERAWATCH and  INNO-Policy TrendChart according to a dedicated policy framework.

The INNO-Policy TrendChart tracks developments in innovation policy measures throughout Europe and produce reports to identify the main trends in terms of policies and funding. An innovation policy measure is defined as any activity that mobilises:

  • Resources (financial, human, organisational) through innovation orientated programmes and projects;
  • Information (road-mapping, technology diffusion activities, coordination) which is geared towards innovation activities;
  • Institutional processes (legal acts, regulatory rules) designed to explicitly influence environment for innovation.

At the same time, it must achieve public policy objectives in the area of innovation:

  • With a percentage of (national) public funding;
  • On a continuing basis (usually not a one-off 'event');
  • Where the target group or eligible participants include enterprises.

The innovation policy measures for each individual country are also accessible via the country pages, which provide a single gateway for all information about individual countries.

If you are looking for a specific type of measure, you can go to the Advanced search page to search for measures (under the "Specific templates" tab) from one or more countries corresponding to one or more criteria.
