The main purpose of this page is to answer basic questions users could have on the use of the ERAWATCH website.
ERAWATCH provides information on European, national and regional research systems, policies, and programmes in the EU and beyond, see more on content in the related menus and pages:

The ERAWATCH website is designed for optimum performance with FireFox 3.5 and IE 7.0.
It comprises a public website and a private area (only available for registered users to manage content and/or user preferences depending on the assigned user profile), accessible after Registration and logging in under “My ERAWATCH” on any ERAWATCH page.
Registration: Once you have provided the necessary data on the Registration page, you will receive an email asking to click on a link to automatically activate your account.
Note:
- Registered users in CORDIS will need to re-register with ERAWATCH to ensure their account is adapted to the changes of the new platform.
Passwords can be changed in the "Private Area", under the "Edit Password" menu.
Note:
- Username and Password are case-sensitive: it is strongly recommended only to use lower cases.
- If a user enters a wrong password three times (consecutively), the system will be blocked for 30 minutes before the user can try again.
Personal Preferences can be changed in the Preferences menu, for instance Password change (Edit Password) and soon for email alert service.
Export and Printing: When clicking on a document, the little icons on the top right area of the document will allow you to:
- 
export and create a PDF version of the document (recommended for printing/ reviewing)
- 
export and create a Word version of the document
- 
email a link of the document to a recipient (Note: such generated emails are currently titled "Friends Suggestion" but this will be changed soon)
- 
print only what is displayed in the document window (which might not be the full content)
Known issues: several issues are identified and being resolved, just a couple of examples:
- Some Special Characters may not show correctly depending on your PC configuration or some errors in documents imported from older databases.
- The Search function keeps being improved. Soon a "clear" button will be available in the Advance Search page and further search criteria available.
Continued efforts are being made to enhance the operation and content of ERWATCH website. Your feed-back is always welcome (keep however in mind that what sometimes "appears" not working quite often works when "trying again") and queries submitted through the Contact page are automatically sent to ERAWATCH HELPDESK, JRC-IPTS-ERAWATCH-HELPDESK@ec.europa.eu
